Powered by the efforts of CreativeRush and through many collaborations with organizations across Wichita Kansas, Down to the Wire™ (#DTTW) facilitates the creation of new original work in the span of 48 hours. Participating teams must write, shoot, edit, and submit a short film in just 24 hours using specific required elements and wholly original content. The following evening, the top films are chosen and are screened at the Sunday Night Showcase featuring VIP Judges and prizes at our new venue, Mary Jane Teall theater at Century II.

Down to the Wire™ is a renowned filmmaking competition in Kansas and one of Wichita’s most high-profile cinematic events.  This year, we are celebrating our eighth year with a vision expanded from a singular annual 24 hour film race to collaborative regional film races, screenings, workshops, outreach events, and educational partnerships. We are partnering with ICT SOS to help provide support, framework, and programming for survivors to engage with filmmakers and storytellers so that they may partake in creative activities that provide professional and educational knowledge that exists in filmmaking and storytelling. Down to the Wire™ presents not only the 24 HR Film Race but year-round programming to create a stronger bond within our creative community and generate opportunities to support the building of new, diverse, and inclusive communities.

Join us this Final Friday, August 30th, at Little Lion Ice Cream in Revolustia for walk-in Team Registration: $200 / $175 (Students) from 7p-8:30p and then head over to mamafilm for a free screening of winning films from the last seven years!
